FAQs

Who are the typical customers of Neotecha?
Probably, there is none such as a typical customer of ours. Our customers operate internationally or locally, mostly big corporations, but medium-size companies from different branches too. These include the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, the paper and pulp industry, food processing companies, steel manufacturers, plant manufacturers and planning companies.
What does Neotecha's quality management look like?
Quality management and quality assurance are important components of our daily work in our company. All our staff-members know the value of a quality-oriented organization, are happy to implement all measures and involve themselves personally too. We are also happy to welcome auditors of our existing or future customers and look at it as an opportunity to learn more about our company in detail and to improve ourselves.
Which basic materials are always in stock?
For our hose lines, we generally have all PTFE-liners from DN 06 to DN 100 in sufficient quantities in stock (each in conductive and non-conductive version). The same applies to braids made of stainless steel, PP and para-aramid with conductive fibers, which we produce in-house and therefore are also able to react quickly to possible shortages.

For silicone hoses, usually nominal diameters from DN 10 to DN 80 are always in stock.

Because there is a great variety of connections for PTFE and silicone hoses, we have the most important fittings in all sizes in stock. Especially Tri-Clamp and flange connections, as well as camlock couplings or threaded connections are always available.

Our well sorted warehouse makes it possible for us to deliver hose lines within very short times and to react quickly to urgent needs of our customers.

How can the products of Neotecha be tracked?
On all hose lines produced by us, you will find a serial number marked on the collar. Each of those numbers exists only once, which means that each hose can be clearly identified. Based on this number all components of the hose line, usually down to the raw material, can be tracked and we also know, which staff-members were involved in the production and testing of that hose line.

In addition, we can also access individual audit records of the pressure and leak test at our hose test stand. So, on one side we are prepared to perfectly reproduce every single hose line and on the other side we have all data available, which could give us valuable information for a possible failure analysis.

What is the procedure of a consulting conversation with Neotecha?

At a consultation with our customers, we are especially interested in all background data: Which product should be used where and why? Which expectations are there; on us resp. our product? Have similar products been in use already and did they perform? The more information you share with us, the more we can slip in our experience and as a “forward-thinker” suggest the appropriate product for your application. If something is beyond our skills, this will also be clearly communicated. A sincere and honest consultation is very important to us! Our goal is, to build up and obtain a long-term business relationship based on trust. For our primary conversation, best contact us by phone: +43 (0)7243 / 53 0 84 or e-mail: office@neo-techa.com.

How are customized solutions being processed at Neotecha?
Since the foundation of our company, we have elaborated and realized a lot of customized solutions. Customer-oriented thinking has always been a part of our business model and still, today we are happy to work out solutions for our existing or future customers.

At the beginning of a customized solution there are always several conversations with all involved parties, so to understand and define all requirements. After the elaboration of the first solution statement of our company, we enter round two with our costumer. Here, the benefits of the solution should be discussed in an open conversation, but also possible weak points are to be found and concerns discussed. If necessary, there will be furthermore talk about possible additional tests and the solution statement updated. Finally, a quotation for a prototype and serial parts will be prepared.

Up to which volume PTFE- and silicone-hose projects can be realized?
The individual project size depends on what hose-type needs to be processed and how the connections need to be designed. Usually, our hose-project sizes range between 100 and 800 hose lines, which are quite complicated specified. As we have already gained a lot of experience in the execution in this area, we are also prepared to realize different projects parallel.

How it looks with the production of hundreds of thousands of hose lines in small dimensions, cannot be told yet. In this case we would need to check our possibilities.

Every project of our customers is processed with optimal professionalism, caution and above all: enthusiasm. We are looking forward to your inquiry!

Which shapes of gaskets are possible from Neotecha?
We have been producing gaskets for 25 years in every established shape: standard shapes like flange gaskets, but also special shapes for heat exchanger with or without division bars, pump housings or machines.

At production we certainly attach great importance to a clean processing: clean cut edges and optimal dimensional accuracy are especially important to us.

Gladly we also produce according to a special sample, sketch, or drawing. The maximum production size is 1500 x 1500 mm and the thickness – depending on the material – can be up to 20 mm.

Where does Neotecha produce PTFE- and silicone hose lines and gaskets?
Already for 25 years we have been producing gaskets and PTFE- and silicone hose lines in Austria.

At our site in Holzhausen (Upper Austria) gaskets made of PTFE-material are currently being die-cut or custom-made on most modern CNC cutting plotters.

With the PTFE-hoses the pursuant vertical range of manufacture needs to be highlighted, because nearly all components are made and processed at this site. From design to production and coding up to testing!

Certainly, there are purchased parts too, but they are also “Made in Austria” or origin from most modern companies in Middle Europe.

How long does the production of hoses and gaskets take?
We maintain a large and good sorted warehouse, which allows us to produce most PTFE- and silicone hose lines within 2 weeks. Projects need a little more time, naturally. But if you are in need, we will always help with pleasure and as fast as possible. Often within the same or the next day.

With gaskets it is quite similar; especially with materials like ePTFE or filled PTFE we can react very fast.

This is possible because of the pursuant vertical range of manufacture at our location in Holzhausen, motivated staff and most modern machines and facilities.

Are industrial hoses manufactured by Neotecha a subject to regular pressure tests?
All hose lines manufactured by Neotecha are subject to a pressure and leak test on an ultra-modern test bench after production. The result of this test is always documented. As soon as the hose line is put into operation by the customer, we recommend the hose line to undergo a pressure test once a year. Additionally, continuous visual checks are carried out in order to increase operational safety. Since it is usually not possible to take used hoses away from their installation place, we gladly come to your company, where our trained hose experts will carry out the recurrent hose inspection for you. Hoses destroyed by improper test settings are then a thing of the past. This justifies the use of experts in this field. The results of the pressure and visual inspection are documented on site and subsequently transferred to you.
What is meant by the term “pressure carrier” in the context of industrial hoses?
A pressure carrier or body is generally understood to mean the braiding on a hose or the inlays of a hose line. For example: A convoluted PTFE hose is exceptionally resistant to many media, but it is vulnerable and generally withstands little pressure. A soon as the hose is equipped with a braiding, it is protected and can withstand much higher pressures, even at high temperatures. The pressure carrier, meaning the braiding, is therefore one of the most crucial components of the hose line and must be conscientiously selected. This increases operational safety and achieves a maximum working life.
Why are stainless steel helixes used in Neotecha’s industrial hoses?
Stainless steel helixes are almost always used with smooth PTFE and silicone hose lines to keep the hose in shape and to achieve a defined bending radius without the hose line kinking. In the case of PTFE convoluted hoses, it is placed in the trough of the convolution, thus keeping the hose round and improving its vacuum resistance.
For which applications or challenges are PTFE hoses predominantly used?
The application areas of PTFE hoses are often reduced to the use in the chemical industry. However, PTFE hoses can be used in a variety of ways. For example, whenever you are looking for a durable, safe hose solution and you are faced with high as well as low temperatures. Or when chemicals and solvents are used, vibrations occur, or the hose line is under constant movement. Good cleanability is often a reason for the use of a PTFE hose.
For which applications or challenges are silicone hoses predominantly used?
Whenever smooth, easily movable and easily cleanable hoses are required, silicone hoses are often used. Oftentimes silicone hose lines offer exactly such approvals and conformities required for pharmaceutical applications.
Which benefits does a stainless-steel braiding offer for industrial hoses?
If PTFE or silicone hose lines are covered with stainless steel braiding, this braiding certainly is the best protection against external influences and makes the hose line extremely robust. (as long as the hose line is resistant to the prevailing atmosphere at the site of operation). Should problems concerning the resistance of a standard stainless-steel braiding arise, we can also produce braids from a more resistant material suitable for you on our facilities.
What role does the operating temperature play when selecting an industrial hose?
The operating temperature is an important parameter, since all components, especially also those not in contact with the product, have to withstand the temperature. The operating temperature thus influences the selection of the liner, cover, braiding, fabric inserts, connections, insulations etc. In addition, it is good to specify temperature peaks and their duration. No “temperature reserves” should be added, as this reduces the choice of possible solutions, although it would not be necessary. With the correct specifications on the operating temperature, the largest possible portfolio can be offered.
Can Neotecha manufacture resp. supply industrial hoses with lined connections?
Yes, depending on the type of connection, we can manufacture hose lines with PFA lined or fluoropolymer coated connections. Or we manufacture connections completely out of materials such as PVDF, PP, PVC, or PTFE. Another solution is (if possible, by geometry and diameters) to pull the PTFE liner over the sealing surface to ensure the necessary chemical resistance.
Can Neotecha also manufacture and supply industrial hoses with special connections and connectors (keyword special solutions)?
Manufacturing hose lines with special connections is not a problem for us. Designing hose lines with different connection types, connection sizes, bows, materials, and surfaces represents our core competencies. We gladly take on new challenges and convince with solutions that live up to our reputation as forward-thinkers.
